Analysis of TWENTY FOUR

Kennedy Mwangi 1998 (Nairobi)

What comes to your mind when you hear of the number 'twenty four'?
Does it give you bliss or does it make you miss the numbers that came before?
It's a number that makes most people to   really think about what life has in store
One moment you're a child, close your eyes and  by the time you open them  you're no longer as young as before
Suddenly there's a rush to get your life in order and you realize that soon there's a bunch of bills that you must sort
With twenty four comes the dawn of reality that you are no longer a child and you've got to head out and face the storm
To some it might just seem like a random number, but as I turn twenty four there's just so much for me to fathom
There's that fear, hope and also a huge curiosity to uncover the kind of mystery life has in store.
As I turn to this next chapter of life, tell me please, what exactly am I supposed to be doing at the age of 24?
