Analysis of Just a Kid
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
Come on my son, why do you worry?
Don’t you know the truth?
I told you many years ago
While you were still a youth
Remember when you called to me
At twilight in the field?
Remember how I told you
That your wounds would all be healed?
I said that it would be OK!
You took me at my Word.
And though you never saw my form
My voice was clearly heard
That night you went back to your home
With such a sense of peace
You knew that you could call to me
And I’d be there at least
But that’s not what I want for you
For you’ll have an abundance
When you see what I have for you
Then I will see your Son dance
A rain dance won’t be necessary
I’ll wipe away all your tears
I’ll take away your adversaries
And with them all your fears
Praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
Let all creation praise him! AMEN
