Analysis of The Ghosts That Have Not Died

They give what they do not possess anymore And carry themselves up or drag their mass along the floor
They support the sad souls that cry and weep
Even though no one was there when they were weak
Shells of people, once filled with vitality Have succumbed to the numbness and weight of reality
Walking the earth to help those who are lost To prevent another from joining their flock Craving affection and love, they always give Only receiving half as much as they thought they’d get.
No more tears to shed And no more cries to fret
The ghosts who are not dead
Embalm their hopes to forget
Maybe in the next life they’ll find Purpose in their right mind
But here they’re always trapped In a paradox to be exact
As their tired eyes always search the starry skies
I grieve for the ghosts who have not died

About this poem

This is a poem I wrote to vent and now I am sharing it to show that if any of you feel the same way I promise you’re not alone. This poem is me saying “I see you. I hear you.” And I want you to take care of yourself. It’s okay to be a little selfish and take a break.
