Analysis of THE SAGA OF IVANHOW
Once there lived a man,
Whose name was Ivanhow;
He was gallant as could be,
And simple as a cow.
Ivanhow had a rule,
Which he would never break;
When someone talked to him,
A deep breath he would take.
And all that he would say,
Was “How” to everything;
His genius they assumed,
Even though he be boring.
But one day, as they say,
Curiosity killed the cat;
As in the great king’s court,
The wretch Ivanhow sat.
And as he pondered deep,
And asked, “O majesty;
How can you say your father,
Was the dead king, not me.”
The king thought long & hard,
And said, “Oh yes, indeed;
One way, only one way,
Can I prove my true breed.
For I christen thee king,
Ivanhow, my true friend;
And then sentence thy death,
And thus my doubts I end !”
