Analysis of Mirror Images: Reflections of Life

Ramona Ornelas 1949 (Chicago, IL)

My heart is torn:
Feeling the sorrow of your passing,
I am empty.
Knowing you were loved comforts me;
Knowing you loved me gives me inner strength.
You passed so swiftly.
Where did the years go,
Filled with so many beautiful memories?
My heart will love you forever.
The legacy you left behind was love
The kindnesses you did for others
Will be forever remembered.
Sleep softly in heaven, Mama,
Knowing that your heart will rest peacefully.
