Analysis of voices

jarrod riley 1988 (United States)

voices... yours or there’s
voices you hear them everywhere
from the ones in your head to the ones in your ear
telling you how to live and what to fear
how to love or what to hate
all influencing your very fate

trust or doubt what you see
the voices will tell you everything.
To adhere or to be absent in your life
hopeful promises leading to unfavorable strife

loud and obnoxious, intelligent, or ignorant
will you be awake or stand there stagnant?
find your truths from all the lies
repair yourself and come alive

be present in every moment
leave no hope for your opponent
break and shatter those sturdy walls
for soon there’s too will follow

keep your vigilance through it all
even happiness comes with some fall
do your best and in the end
those voices will drift and ascend
