Analysis of Reflections of a broken soul
Shantay A Wicklander 1985 (Seattle)
I look back at the life I lived over the years and as I reflect I realized I was blinded by my own toxic ways.
Never understood why I didn't want to be alone but now I know I was just a little girl looking for love in all the wrong places.
I numbed the pain with an illusion of happy moments.
I use to think nobody would notice but slowly they could see the heaviness I carried up on my chest.
The light they once seen in me slowly started to dim.
For years I went down a destructive path with one too many failed relations.
I blame myself for not knowing my worth.
I had to face reality within and start healing to the core of my soul in order for my heart to feel the love I was giving to everyone else but myself.
Now I know my worth and I deserve the very best and I won't settle for anything less.
