Analysis of My Hands
Carlos Santos 1976 (NJ)
As I hold up my hands I see
hands that have held many
things.
Blood, Guns, Drugs, Lives
Guns that I've held to protect
myself as well as others.
Drugs that I've given to fathers,
mothers, sisters, brothers.
Blood that I have wiped off
the face of my earth.
Lives of the friends who have
passed on as well as the lives
of family members that will
forever be gone.
Now it's time for my hands
to embrace my life my spirit my
soul.
