Analysis of Daddy
Bright green eyes
Sadness rolling down my cheek
"Daddy how I miss you"
Hearing a voice in my head speaks
The loneliness you led your life
how sad do you have to be?
"I missed the years to live with you"
But life is sad you see?
Always I remember-
The days when I was small
Never missed a visit
and always dared to call.
I loved when you took me shopping
to buy a dress or two
spending every penny
on those pair of girly shoes.
I still can hear the laughter
of us laughing having fun
i still think back on happy days
blowing hair shiny in the sun.
I always knew you loved me
in the days you couldn't be there.
when tears filled up my big green eyes;
in my heart, I know you've cared.
All grown up this little girl
as strong as she can be.
Wiping away a tear or two
thinking of days I sat on your knee
Stronger than you'll ever know
I turned out brave you see.
Shining brighter than the sun
a hero you will always be to me.

About this poem
I wrote this poem for my father many years ago. He lived his life as a recluse. but these are the memories i have of him. I am proud to say he is turning 85 this year and still going on strong. he will be my hero. Always.
