Analysis of The One Who Perseveres
There is a girl of about sixteen years,
In theatre she is, beating her stage fears.
If she is truthful, some days of her life,
She fights against herself in quite a strife.
She has never-ending, heavy issues,
In which past times her coping she’d misused.
For in her room, isolation was key.
Time spent reading, writing was best to be.
An author already, some might have said,
She writes so much, way past the time for bed.
She is so amazing, beautiful too,
But this poor girl does not realize it’s true.
Her mind can be dark, her head can be wrong,
And no one hears the cry of her sad song.
Her empathy is such a gift from God,
Where she understands them with a small nod.
A quiet girl, unique in her own way.
For strength and courage every night she’d pray.
This girl has told all her survivor’s tale,
So maybe the struggling will not fail.

About this poem
I wrote this 2 years ago for a school assignment. It's in Iambic Pentameter, but that's not an option for a type of poetic form.
