Analysis of In The End

I feel like some kind of prisoner,
Locked up tight inside of here.
Sentenced to Life for a crime I did not commit,
And now that my time is now drawing near.

Some days I feel like I am going to lose it,
Probably because I am going stir crazy, too.
Lord knows this is nothing new,
Lord knows there isn't anything that I can do.

I see everyone around me, living their lives,
And I am merely on the outside looking in.
I am no longer a part of that world,
And I doubt I ever will again.

I have cried, and I have begged,
For just a little mercy,
Just shoot me in the head so its over already,
Enough of all this pain and misery.

What have I done,
Or maybe what didn't I do that I needed too?
I gave what I thought was my very best,
And I gave that only to you.

And here is to another long waste of a night,
This is all my life has become.
Might as well just give it up,
Because the Lord knows, I am done.
