Analysis of Uprooted
Cord cut, bond broken
Child grew forward looking.
Left fold, set goals
To see more
Of what the world had in store.
Glanced back now and then
Wrote to various next of kin
Who due to solid walls
Didn’t know him well at all.
A few times seen, briefly heard
Followed by years without a word
Guess when past is put away
Old memories no longer stay.
