Analysis of Safe

Salomé Bálsamo 2000 (Buenos Aires)

Woke up next to the memory of you.
The emptiness of my bed
was loud enough to make
your presence fade away,
couldn’t hear your haven.

The rhythm of the rain
against my window,
made me wish
your arms would hold me,
making the thunder less alarming.

The perfume of your skin,
in my brain, needing to be touched again.
The wave of your touch
forever flowing to my heart,
becoming my light, a fire,
warming my life.
