Analysis of Just a Glimpse
Theresa Sue Kennison Baker 1960 (Louisiana)
Just a glimpse
By Theresa Sue Kennison Baker
It neither makes us laugh nor cry
It happens with the sound of a bell
It happens as the scent of smell
A memory sweeps past then dies,
Why doesn't it come in and wipe its feet
Why can't we enjoy the visit
Come on in and have a seat
Take the dream to its limit
Life happens. We must move on.
Memories must be free to roam
They're never completely gone
Our minds resides their home.

About this poem
How a memory comes into mind but is gone quickly you don’t quite remember the whole thing. You want more but all you get is that tiny glimpse. But they’re there and the recollection might come again.
