Analysis of Anti Virus

There is sadness and gloom all around
No laughter joy or mirth to be found
As you read the papers and watch the news
Listening to one another’s views
The death toll mounting day by day
Bringing anguish and fear along its way
Humanity has never been thus humbled
To feel so inadequate unprepared and completely fumbled
We have scaled the mountains and crossed the seas
Touched the moon with wondrous ease
With powerful speed of super sonic jets
We traversed the sky and the planets
To show off our tremendous conquests
There was nothing in the world that man couldn’t do
Impossible mighty tasks , the complex ones too
Fame and fortune , riches and wealth
We boasted of immeasurable strength
We ruled the Universe with our indomitable spirit
Full of ego and pride that knew no limit
Pushing all the laws of nature aside
Crushing Mother Earth as she wept and cried
But did man listen?
Did he care?
Did he step back, did he share?
Hungry for power hungry for fame
Snatched all that he could, what a shame!
Until one day, one prophesied day....
Hark! Stop. Did I hear something
Is that World War III Knocking ?
*****

An invisible insignificant tiny virus
Wrecking disastrous havoc upon us
Bringing the unconquerable human race down to its knees
Unleashing it’s fury just as it pleased
Sending one and all hurtling into their home
Be it China, India , Spain or Rome.
Proclaiming its strength to the mighty US
Claiming lives and causing distress
Bringing the stock market crashing down
Shutting everything with a virulent frown
No discrimination to caste, creed, race or religion
You could be rich or poor , or from any region
Showing no mercy whether young or old
Dry cough and fever are the symptoms we’re told.
Even without this, our invisible guest
Can harbour in us and make it’s vicious nest.
All is doomed , people are dying
Everything’s lost and everyones crying
What’s to be done? Is there a glimmer of hope?
What will become of us?
Will we win this war against this virus?
*****

The answer is Yes!
But we need to follow
Some simple rules that will end this sorrow.
Self Isolation , washing hands
And Social distancing are the magic wands
Build your immunity , stay away from crowds
Avoid WhatsApp rubbish that are making their rounds
Shun stocking and hoarding groceries
Leave some for friends and other buddies
Stay safe at home - you can do a million things
You can’t fathom the pure joy that it brings
Be cheerful and have a positive outlook
Scribble some poetry or read a book
Learn a foreign language- online of course
No one to stop you, sing yourself hoarse
Doodling drawing and painting can be fun
Sip your tea slowly and enjoy the mornin’ sun
Sit in your garden and listen to the birds
Admire the plants flowers and ferns
Appreciate the beautiful nature that God’s given
Let’s stop being petty, selfish and power driven
Slow down your life ,slow down and deep breathe
Don’t look at the statistics that your TV news feeds
Yoga and meditation are two powerful tools
To uplift our mood and drive away our blues.

Let’s lift our hands in silent prayer
‘Cause more things are wrought by that
Follow rules and respect Nature
‘Cause only then will Nature act
To bring good health, peace and joy
To heal the world and keep us intact.
