Analysis of The darkness in me

The darkness in me can dance.
It's dancing right now, to the beat.
For a second we danced together,
The darkness and me.

For that second all was well.
For that second we agreed,
The darkness and me,
That this could be possible;
Us getting along, working as one.

The darkness in me.
The darkness with me.

But that second was gone just as fast as it had begun.
Just me and my darkness.
The darkness in me.
It won.
