Analysis of Springer

beside the long cool roll of verdant mill creek
with ducks cruising among thirsty roots and mossy rocks like riverboats
a pepper- red poppy stands in the early summer sun.
a high-tempered diva, she stands among “love in a mist” and orange wall-flowers -
their barbed lime roundness counterpointing her thin tissue paper beauty.
her ebony black face as she soaks up the sun’s glory;
she knows me, you see,
or rather, is confidant i know her.
“take my picture”  she coos then sticks her celebrity pose
nose in air  “the wall-flowers need to exude all their sickly-sweet perfume,
rocks need their water flowing daintily over them to entice in summer’s heat.
with me – what you see is all you get.
all i need is me and you

…and you to remember me.”
