Analysis of I JUST CALLED TO SAY ‘ I LOVE YOU’
It was bit of a crowd this morning
I wasn’t in any rush
But I have been in mourning
I saw this man from a distance
Slim built and tall , looked like Adam
I felt a sudden pang in my heart
I wondered can this tall man
Walking over the yonder be Adam ?
I said to myself this man in the yonder
Can not be our Adam
It can’t be because he is in London.
My heart pang lingered on
So I called Adam ,
my son in law in London
Alas, he didn’t answer
I just wanted to say it’s true
That I just called to say ‘I love you’
This same happens to me often
When I am out on the streets for a moment
I could be walking or driving
Or just even simply sitting
I sometimes see someone in the distance
With a sudden pull of my heart searingly
I see a petite girl who looks like Bonnie
My heart stops beating for a moment
Can that really be my Bonnie?
My mind in upsurging torment
I realise it can’t be Bonnie
Because she is in heaven
My heart then sinks into a hollow
Reality hurls me back
into plunging sorrow.
It’s ever more agonising
As her presence and smiling
Always felt like the brightest star has come down
To level with us mortals
On the bosom of Mother Earth
From heavens above us
I get back to my daily routine
I carry on with my chores
An ocean of gutted feeling
Keeps coming to my shores
What can I ask of my life any more?
Glimpses of laughter
In between my tears galore
I wish it’s as easy as when she lived
That I call her as often as I did
Perhaps there was not much to say
But I would say ‘ I just called to say I love you’
Just that would make my day and hers too.
I wish I could call her again just to say
‘ Bonnie, I love you’.
‘And will always do’
