Analysis of Upon Their Backs and Shoulders

every
word and thought
brands the mark of slavery
the mark of the Satan
the mark of the beast
upon
their backs and shoulders
of a stolen People
from
the
sweet Motherland of Africa
without
being breastfed anymore
shall
hoist the sails of slave ships
bound for
the
new world

About this poem

African Americans did not come here to settle in American on Plymouth Rock, with the Pilgrims nor did we get invited here on the ships of Christopher Columbus (Nina, Pinta & Santa Maria). We are forced into slavery providing free labor in the new world and it was all about the money, nothing personal, mate. So, we arrive in America at the bottom of Slave Ships, thus providing free labor in the building of vast wealth and capital for America Institutions Now Black Folks realize that - Freedom Ain't Free! Yes, I am an African Descendant, but I don't even know what African Nation or Tribe, I come from. Still, I cannot speak any of my native African language. ...and more than that, I cannot remember my African heritage and culture We are the stolen Black People from the Motherland of Africa However, most people think that it was in our best interest to be taken out of Africa, turned into slaves for over two hundred years, without reparations, to become civilized American citizens. So, we need to keep asking God for more wisdom in dealing with this historical genocide tragedy.
