Analysis of Thanks

Today I give thanks
For I am full of gratitude.
I give thanks to my mother and father
For bringing me into this world.
I give thanks to my elders for their wisdom and guidance.
I give thanks to my friends who love me.
I give thanks to the rising sun that gives me hope.
I thank the earth that sustains me and nourishes my thoughts.
I thank the ocean for opening my heart
And I thank the rain for quenching my thirst.

I give thanks to the moon for the peace I feel,
I give thanks to time for the wisdom that blesses me,
I give thanks to the distant stars for my dreams,
And I give thanks to you who help me make sense of it all -
Peace, love, and understanding.
