Analysis of Make Clearer The Picture
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
The only picture intended,
Not to paint a thousand words heard.
Is the one that is meant,
For an imagination to use.
To leave what is missing.
Meant to intend,
Not to expose too much...
About the painter to assume,
There is nothing more to say or left...
Only the curious would ask.
If...
They had the interest enough.
That could possibly develop,
Into a meaningful relationship.
'Excuse me.
That picture you painter?'
'Yes.
What about it?'
'Is there a reason why,
It lacks emotional intimacy?'
'You noticed that?'
'Of course.
It's too obvious to me,
That's the only thing missing.'
'And...
Is that what your missing,
Personally?'
'Why would you ask something like that?'
'Curious.
Interested.
And attracted to what you haven't said.
With words to paint a clearer picture!'
'But...
I am not the artist.'
'Yet...
We both have equal needs.
Do we not?'
'Yes.
We do!
