Analysis of Covid Blues

The pubs have been closed for a while now
Ghosts drink in the Ship and the Plough
The old brewery’s neglected and gathering dust
The drays in the yards are covered in rust
Twenty twenty has been the year of degradation
With nowhere to slake the thirst of the nation
We’ve been getting out bottles from Tesco and Spar
And drinking ‘em at home - no chats at the bar
Watching the news with its experts and sceptics
Oh turn off Huw Edwards, lets see whats on Netflix
We’re taking up pastimes like jigsaws and crochet
The wife has bought a tutu, she fancies doing ballet
We rigged up a dance studio out in the backyard
And tomorrow from Amazon comes my leotard
A two meter gap when we stand in the queue
Underneath this mask my language is blue
We keep a safe distance and sanitise
Social lifes headed for friendless demise
Oh we’ve had enough of the kerfuffle and fuss
And the Chinese can have back their dirty virus.
