Analysis of The Invisible Bond

I lay on the grass so green
Looking up into the sky so mean
Took in a deep sigh
Realized how lonely was I
Know not what I lay there thinking
Not a stir nor a wink I remember making
Just lay there still as I could be
Mind filled with things as should be

Know not when she came my way
For when I turned, besides me she lay
Facing me was she without fear
Pretending to be asleep, so calm, so near
Adorable she looked, as she stretched with laze
Her sparkling eyes had a speechless gaze
With opened eyes, she to me did stare
And escaped a yawn, did she not dare

She watched me with her eyes so blue
Made me feel that life was so true
Wonder did I what she thought
Of what life, has her, all brought
Wonder did I what she saw
In life, that made her way through claw
Wondered I if things ever did her hurt
And how she solved them, with all her girth
Wondered I if she knew what love was all about
And only pain in end, was all that it got

She rolled on her stomach and came close to me
Made me smile and happy as could be
I loved her from her very sight
Her beauty and strength, brought me such delight
She looked at me with a pitiful face
Even then she held herself, in such high grace
She looked at me with eyes so deep
As if she had answers, to my peaceful sleep
Came close to my face, as close as could be
Nudged her head into my chin did she
Felt her warmth, her breathing so hard and loud
Made me feel that her life was a misery cloud

She pulled her mouth onto my cheek
Dug her face, into my skin so deep
A wet kiss, so sweet, so lovable
Made my worries flee along with their trouble
I couldn't resist and pulled her closer
Hugged her hard, didn't want to loose her
She did not resist to my surprise
But I knew, she too was just a passerby in my life
I knew, she too would have come to go
For what was she here, to me, to show

She wriggled out of my hands so fast
I thought well, time was come to go past
But she walked around me once or twice
Running to me and escaping my strike
Playful mood was she in as usual
Even after life to her had been so cruel
Trying to cheer herself and I was she
Making me think, that life was all fair to me

From noon to dusk, we played that day
When the sun set, we knew our way
I stood up to say good bye
Looking down on her, with my pitiful eye
How I wished I could be she
And pretend that life was so easy, as can be
I stared at her for a few seconds of time
She had that charm that left me entwined
She said nothing but she said it all
She clung to my feet, giving me her last call

I walked a few paces away from her
I knew she wouldn't follow, but I wasn't sure
I stopped, I turned, I know not why
I couldn't go any further, without saying again bye
Wanted to ask, if she would come tomorrow
Who would I play with, to ease my sorrow
She looked up at me, from where she lay
As if she knew, I would turn to stay
She stood up and came running to me
Assuring that, she would wait there for me

I came back the next day and the day after
The same time, the same place, thereafter
There was no sign of her to be seen
Life I knew, had once again been to me mean
Never to come back there, I thought
Turned my back to the place, that love to me brought
Sadly strode back home did I then
Sat on the window, was I saw her when
Standing across the road, under the street light
Looking divine as usual, shimmering with pride

She knew, I lived out there somewhere
My house, she couldn't know one from other there
She looked to the left and looked to the right
I could very well sense her plight
The road was empty and the night quite and dark
Some dogs asleep and some couldn't stop bark
I called out to her there, with my voice aloud
I'm sure she heard me, for she jumped all around

I cursed myself, for thinking that she left me
For some other stranger, without whom she couldn't be
I wondered, what kept her away so many days
When I saw her limp across the road to me, she had her say
I couldn't wait to see the rest
To her need, did I run to in zest
I ran down the stairs, a step and two
When I heard a car screech a few
My heart stopped, for how long I don't know
What fear gripped my mind, I couldn't show
I prayed for all to be fine
I prayed that my love, could be mine

I couldn't see that car around
Few people gathered, around her on the ground
I rushed to where she lay
And could hear some people say
"She's dead and cold, as can be,
Run over, by some busy bee"
I picked her up, I my arms so light
Couldn't feel her warmth , nor her breathing sight
She lay cold, with the same look upon her face
Showing no fear, no worry, the very same grace
Death to her, had come quite soon
That too she accepted, with her heart filled with boom

I carried her to the ground, where we had first met
The same green patch, where our friendship did set
I dug her grave, dug it right there
Built on it a tombstone, I did dare
Bid farewell to her, kissed her goodbye
Kept a rose on it, promised to never let it die
From then, till this day
I visit her, come what may
Keep a fresh rose and plant a fresh kiss
That cat was my friend, I shall forever miss

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
