Analysis of God help me endure

Holly Flame Maxey 1976 (baltimore)

True progress is slow

Torturous to the soul, body & mind

Yet, holds promise for a better tomorrow

For a better future

I pray every day for the strength

To withstand this pressure

I thought the old man died

But apparently, he still has a hold on me

I need to let him go, before I can be free

I need to let him go, before I becomes, “US”

As much as I am pained by this

Mental arrangement with the old man

He has owned me for so long

I am not sure I know how

To let Go
