Analysis of Thorny Visions
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I must go on boasting,
Though nothing to be gained;
What the Lord is hosting,
At the place He has reigned.
I know a man in Christ,
Was caught up in Heaven;
Revelations enticed,
In the visions given.
Whether in or without,
Only the Lord would know;
His words I will not doubt,
About where he did go.
For I know that this man,
Was up in paradise;
That God had shown His plan,
Expressed to be concise.
What he heard is not told,
Which he may not utter;
The future to unfold,
Would cause us to stutter.
I will never glory,
Because of my weakness;
Of telling his story,
For some it is bleakness.
If I should wish to boast,
I would not be a fool;
For the heavenly host,
Bonded me to His rule.
I am not conceited,
With the revelation;
The surpassing greatness,
Brings a new creation.
His grace is sufficient,
His power is made perfect;
Making me more fervent,
That I will not neglect.
Because when I am weak,
He is making me strong;
When in Him as I seek,
Keeps me from going wrong.
