Analysis of Kite
Luke Breen 1998 (United States)
Kite
By: Luke Breen
Hollow nights are dark yet feel bright
Yet there is no light
And you’ve just landed from your flight
Gripping your luggage tight
You can see a kite
Flying through the night
Just as you, in the plane
Arriving from Maine
Avoiding your great aunt Jane
Who walks with a cane
She was just too plain
And you are insane
Riding a plane
Looking for fame
In a place
With no face
So let's start the chase
You’re no basket case
The kite is a sign
With its line
Strung out so fine
And tight
Because your ready for the fight
Though it isn’t light
you feel safe in the night
Looking at the kite
And you know it’s going to be alright
