Analysis of THE SUBSTITUTE

The Substitute is coming soon
To steal away your life,
You'll be left in a lifeless limbo
As he makes love to your wife.

He erases you from history
And steps into your place,
You're like a living phantom now
An alien from out of space.

Your life and your family
Now all belong to him,
He can keep them, or destroy them
All at his evil whim.

The Substitute is living happily
In what was once your house,
Your son is his, your daughter's his
No-one can see that you're about.

He lives the life he stole from you
A pleasant life that he stole away,
He sleeps with your wife in the night
And works at your job in the day.

The Substitute is cunning
He'll outsmart you every time,
In your gown, and on your couch
The Substitute reclines.

THE END
