Analysis of The Look

I speak with open eyes
But I do not see the people in front of me.
My thoughts draw you into the present,
Amalgamating memories
And letting them rush to the forefront
So I can see you in my mind’s eye.

Nobody else sees you,
But they know from the look
That though my body has not moved an inch,
My heart is reliving the days when
It beat for you;

When you would lift me high
Up above your head,
And my silhouette would be outlined by sunlight
That beamed out from your smile.

Even then I sensed truth in the fables,
For you were a shining warmth
That enveloped my whole life,
Orbiting around me because
I was your world.
