Analysis of I REMEMBER LONG AGO

I REMEMBER LONG AGO.

WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL
WE ONLY HAD LAMPS FOR
LIGHT, NO FANS TO KEEP
COOL, AND A WOOD STOVE
FOR FOOD, OR WARMTH IN
THE WINTER.

I REMEMBER MY MOM HAD
TO GO THROUGH THE HOUSE AND
OPEN ALL THE WINDOWS AND
SCREEN DOORS TO GET A LITTLE
BREEZE IF THERE WAS ANY.

AND IN THE SUMMERTIME THERE
WASN’T MOST OF THE TIME, BUT IN
THE WINTERTIME IT WAS SO COLD
I SLEPT WITH MY BIG SISTER, MOM
WOULD HEAT BRICKS ON THE WOOD
STOVE WRAP THEM IN CLOTH AND
PUT THEM NEXT TO OUR FEET TO
GET THEM WARM.

MY CHILDREN NEVER KNEW ANYTHING
LIKE THAT, IT WAS BEFORE THEIR
TIME OF COURSE, BUT IT WAS VERY
BAD AT TIMES.
