Analysis of Stand with Palestine
Rahimeen Lodhi 2005 (Toronto)
They try to wipe out their entire bloodline,
Just because they belong to Palestine.
The bloody violence and the killing,
There is no excuse for ethnic cleansing.
Bombs drop like rain,
Trying to remove them from their domain,
And the world stays silent,
While listening to the speech of a tyrant.
Homes, hospitals, the school,
Demolished by the hands of the cruel.
Dead, innocent men, women and children,
On their way to Heaven.
The kids of Gaza play and laugh in the crumbling ruins,
Their hearts filled with faith and their passions.
It’s armed barbarians with weapons,
And mankind still can’t see the villains.
Rockets flying,
Thousands of innocents dying,
Cold corpses multiplying,
Children crying,
And they keep persisting.
Since 1948, the illegal occupation started,
Civilians driven out of their house and their land raided.
Families are torn, kids burying their parents,
Now tell me who are the terrorists.
The screams for help drowned in gunshots,
Doesn’t take much to connect the dots.
Their crocodile tears and propaganda can fool the ignorant,
But our voices can help fuel Palestinian empowerment.
Human rights isn’t a trend,
Don’t stop fighting until their pain comes to an end.
Don’t let their sacrifices decay,
Because their lives are the price they pay.
Stand in solidarity with Palestine if you believe in humanity,
While the oppressors try to flee,
From the charge of the blood on their hands,
Return all of the Palestinian lands.

About this poem
This poem expresses the truth of the apartheid happening in Palestine for the last 73 years, and how the media is hiding the truth, succumbing to the silence and the cries for help. How we are letting humanity down.
