Analysis of But Still I Try

Good day, bad day, good ways, bad ways
caught off guard, shield to be raised
an instance in time, moment in crisis
mean and nasty from earlier nice-ness
simple forms of daily relating
we haven't yet, understood hating
cynicism grows with each passing day
giving and receiving a reciprocation of pay
the introduction to toxic later living
re-adjustments intake, painfully unforgiving
masks of happiness, masks of depression
no second chance, at that first impression
a little off keel like a broken wheel
dynamic broken chemistry no chance to heal
flirting with time and aging the feel
connections broken, contacts, action and reacts
high speed pace of living, forgetting just to relax
images and pictures pages turning in the eye
wonders of the world slipping slowly by
valleys and crests combining lows and highs
