Analysis of Captain Of His Own Ship
Teresa Whitney 1951 (Tacoma)
Looking through out the universe,
A Captain of a ship I found,
An interesting gent he was,
As I stood looking all around,
Standing stout without a flinch,
He turned, and saw me smiling,
My heart reached out to him then,
I learned he was not lying,
The truth this Captain spoke,
Told me he is the Captain of his ship,
Owner of his very own vessel,
With a hand upon his hip,
Speaking from within my mind,
I heard his every thought,
Declining of my boarding pass,
A refusal of such was not,
Desiring to go aboard was I,
A tear fell upon the beach,
There is where I stood quietly,
Awaiting the Captain's reach,
Joining now my Captain on ship,
I laid my head on his chest,
A warming, and appreciated spot,
One I loved the best.
