Analysis of Laura's Eyes

The clouds reveal healing
Bruises in the calm follow stormy skies
Purplish brown with a dull orange tint
'Round the edges of Laura's eyes

See the windows frost at the edges
Blue through the fog from the light
Lightning flashes, it's stormy in
Tonight, in Laura's eyes

The storms have passed this way before
Without pause to rationalize
Left unapologetic holes
In the walls 'round Laura's eyes

Laura lives under the weather
Lightning flashed, plaster fell
But Laura says she's getting better
Since Daddy died and went to Hell

Laura insulates pajamas
With vodka, wills the cold away
Lights flash, flicker in windows
The frost would not dare stay

In the house that Laura's daddy built
Are unapologetic holes in walls
Laura insulates pajamas
Lightning rages, plaster falls

Laura fell in love and married
Love at first familiarize
He was just like dear old daddy
In the damage in Laura's eyes

She pulls her hair back from her face
Says, "I was pretty once, a prize,"
Displays unapologetic holes
'Round the edges of Laura's eyes

Insulated wherever she goes
She wears pajamas all the time
I have never seen Laura's smile
But she seems to appreciate mine

The storms have passed this way before
Without pause to rationalize
Left unapologetic holes
In the walls 'round Lauras eyes
