Analysis of Collectible Delusions

That's me you see
Over your shoulder in the mirror
The voice so clear
Your choice to hear
But I ain't there

Angelina stays in a room at the Crest
Swears she met Jesus in a sweater vest
I wasn't there
Jesus drove her home in his Oldsmobile
Saved her soul with a little yellow pill
She ate Jesus like a sacrament
Now everybody wonders where Jesus went
I wasn't there

Where you gonna go, who you gonna to talk to
When you miss that voice, miss that face?
Who you gonna call when the last one's gone,
When you lost the ones you can't replace?

Now she glows like a virgin
About to give birth
Every pawn shop clown knows
What her baby is worth
And he gave her his last dime
But he ain't there
There's plenty more dimes
Where that one went
When the money's all spent
That Heaven sent
Ain't been there
In a long long time

Life of your choosin'
Ritual confusion
Measuring success by Master's Degrees
Visions in collusion
Preferable Illusions
Crosses on lawns next to money trees

Where you gonna go, who you gonna to talk to
When you miss that voice, miss that face?
Who you gonna call when the last ones gone,
When you lost the ones you can't replace?

Certifiable musings
Collectible delusions
Jesus The Bachelor of Arts
Nailed to your wall
Spectres in the closet
Voices in the hall
Shadows in the mirror
And the one on the wall

Shadow on the wall
In the hall has my eyes
Chained by degrees
Masters or otherwise
Call yourself victim
Cry out your eyes
But you paid your last dime
For your own demise
I ain't ever gonna be there

Where you gonna go, who you gonna to talk to
When you miss that voice, miss that face?
Who you gonna call when the last ones gone,
When you lost the ones you can't replace?

That's me you see
Over your shoulder in the mirror
But I ain't there...
