Analysis of The scandalmongers charter

JP. 1948 (United Kingdom)

THE SCANDALMONGERS CHARTER

Perniciously gathering scandal and bile
In secret clandestine they add to the file
Invasively trawling without nets you can see
Their version of News from a press they call free
Unguarded comments alone in your head
Collected by thought police quoted as said
Mobile phone transcripts dissected, distilled
Information for sale will always be billed

Targeting someone or no one at all
Type Face without conscience that I can recall
Their Creed is The Public has a Right to Know
A beast with two faces but one only on show
The Law a sharp tool if it works for their ends
A barbaric injustice if they have to make amends
Their crimes are well hidden on a balance sheet line
But filed and on record and biding their time

In treachery turned on their cohorts in wrong
Thrown down to the wolves those who do not belong
A corporate face now denying their fault
As advertising withdraws signifying revolt
Yet caught by the digital trail they had used
In the Email evidence they held on the abused.
Now gone are the names on the Scandal Sheet masts
Redeployed saints and sinners are never outcasts
