Analysis of It Ceases
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Pain to feel comes to hurt.
Leaves and ceases from memory.
Fading away expectations sought.
Thought and taught to believe,
Within reach whenever wished...
To seek and wanted.
Life?
To live and grow to experience it,
Only offers picture perfect displays...
Of those delicious bowls of cherries.
Appearing too sweet to touch or eat.
Yet...
Teasing.
Until...
One discovers,
Pits bitten to bite the reality inside...
Invites the stopping of the crave.
Ruining that appetite for cherries.
Few pictures are painted,
To exhibit disappointments.
And the truth of life to face.
This journey of discovery is personal.
With heartbreak to realize,
'Ups' don't stay that way.
Nor do the 'downs'.
But that to convince,
Has to be experienced too.
Much like a ride on a rollercoaster.
From the beginning until it ends.
Leaving it difficult to explain,
What happens in between...
The opening and closing of eyes.
Some lie and others adjust to learn,
To admit at every twisting turn...
Something else occurs.
No one anticipates or prepares for.
Yet...
The longer life is lived cease we do,
To insist to fiction or delude...
That which isn't true.
Most do.
Others?
Prefer the 'merry-go-round'.
Playing to believe it safe that way.
Comforted in having life unchanged.
Or...
Perceive to believe this.
It eventually ceases.
Lies we tell ourselves.
It ceases.
Seasons and celebrated holidays.
It ceases!
Demanding our perceptions,
And...
Unchanging beliefs to enforce,
Upon others.
Those others,
Who have grown tired of the B.S.
Knowing their lives to live,
As if on a rollercoaster ride inflicted.
Have gotten off.
No longer to allow,
Anyone else to 'get off' by enjoying...
Agony to suffer and endure.
The only ones inviting enslavement,
Are the ones inflicting the pain!
