Hoping With Dreams

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Pick them up and never stop.
Hoping with dreams.
Just to watch and hear,
A clock tick-tock time away.
Move.
Stay focused.

Pick your pace up and never stop.
To think a thought about,
Those gone to go yesterdays.
Drop them to block out,
Whatever to you aging means.
Dreams to fulfill are ageless.

Pick those dreams and never stop,
Praying.
For brighter and better tomorrows.
Stifle the sharing,
Of others' borrowed sorrows.

Roar!
Like never before,
To hear yourself do it.
Leave behind the foolishness.
Let it known you mean business.
Roar!
Like you have never done before.
And move...
From those knocked to remain locked,
Closed doors.

Make your own opportunities.
This to do is not impossible.
And...
Why not?
Unless...
Your life blessed to live it given.
Has you stopping to think,
You efforts to endeavor...
Is wasted on the impossible.
And dreams you deserve to come true,
Are not possible.
So...
Better they would be to leave abandoned.

A dreamer with a dream and faith to have,
Has never felt that way.
Regardless of the time it takes,
To face and remove...
Any obstacle that comes to test,
One's determination.
With or without rest to get.
That satisfies the truth,
Of a dream to live it!

Get up,
From a down stroke.
And...
Never leave behind,
A dream to want it and very much!
