Analysis of Will You Walk With Me?
Ron VanHooser 1956 (Franklin County, MO)
Will you walk with me,
when my step has slowed?
Will you hold my hand,
along life’s winding road?
I dream of growing old,
in a cottage by the sea.
The sunset years spent,
with you and me as we.
Two forgotten lovers
walking hand in hand.
Two sets of footprints
in the morning’s sand.
The call of the seagulls;
the gentle waves cascade;
a whistling cooling breeze;
all provide our serenade.
A lifetime spent in wait,
in a forlorn lover's torment,
now seems a pittance,
for such sweet content.
Will you walk with me,
when my hair turns gray?
Will you hold my hand
or will you walk away?
