Congratulations to all the winners! :) My gosh! I'm still working on my half-baked poems. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish one that could be good enough for this month's competition. You all did great and let's all keep the good writing going. :)

Well done to everyone who submitted their poems this month. Since joining the community a couple of months ago, I’ve found that I really look forward to the 1st of the month when I get the chance to read the work of so many different and talented people. Personally, the competitions give me inspiration to write and express myself as, I do not know anyone in my circle that actually likes poetry! So thank you very much to everyone involved.

Congratulations to the winners, as always, another fantastic month of poetry. Special shoutout to John for another podium finish this month! My personal favorites this month (in no particular order) were:

    1. The Woman With Frogs In Her Ears, 2. Perpetual Saturday, 3. Monsters, 4. The Solace Of Eternity, 5. The Cave, 6. Swallow, 7. Relapse, 8. Buried, 9. In The Dimming Light, 10. Unfallen Leaves

Really great entries and difficult decisions. I will be making my rounds to comment and encourage everyone to do the same with their favorites. I hope this inspires people who haven't read all the entries to give them all a shot, you never know what you may miss. Keep writing!

The good news for me is that I knew I was out early upon having read some of these amazing pieces. I took a chance with a couple of poems I wasn't comfortable posting, but figured I had nothing to lose by giving it a go. The first-place winner I told would be the first-place winner once I read the piece. It was amazing - The Duet. Simply too many amazing writers to make it easy for anyone and that is how it should be. It really requires us to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone. You are all worthy of prizes in my opinion because you are fearless to put yourselves out there. Never let your showing here make you feel unworthy. You are, I assure you. Love from me to you. See you on the playing field, my friends. ;-)

      - Those are usually the ones readers/peers love best. The ones I don’t necessarily care for or think are not very good. Perhaps it’s in their rawness and vulnerability.

Winning is believing in our written words and having the confidence to share in a competition. Dreaming is hoping to win a prize. We are all winners. Out of 8 billion people in this world, correct me if I am wrong, we are about to see 150 winners displayed. Hey who is the management? Lol
Maybe we should all get a small token to remind ourselves of how many times that we dared to win. Ummm an ink pen, a little tassel, ……………..???????
      When is the reveal????????????

Personally, I’ve only read about a third of the poems here so far and, uh …wow! So much talent and emotion and deep artistry.

Seeing that our friend Robin is not in the comment sections, I'm assuming she is not well enough to compete yet... here's to wishing her a speedy recovery.

    Good luck everyone!

Her and I have been friends here for ages. I haven't heard a single peep from her. I am worried. I will send her a message to make sure she's okay. I had just assumed she was taking a break, but now I'm worried.

      Hey Steven,

Yes that would be nice, thank you. Very sudden and unfortunate news last month… please let us know if you hear anything.

Otherwise, another great month of competition. “Humor of getting old” was great to read, very cool stuff as always my friend.

Might I ask what sudden news you're referring to? I never heard a peep.

oh no! Last month on the contest summary page, Robin’s sister informed us in the comments that Robin has had a bad fall and needed to be hospitalized. So she couldn’t celebrate in the awards with us like she usually does after competing and doing so well, as she usually does… :(

Yikes! I never saw that message. She'd told me months ago that her sister would be coming here, but I've never seen her and don't know who she is. Thank you for letting me know the situation. I hope she's okay.

These titles look like wrapped Christmas presents beneath a tree: colorful and alluring and begging to be unwrapped. Can’t wait to see what’s inside.
