caress, when comfort is critical
fill a bucket with raindrops of trust
glow with gratitude in the darkness
be kind
speak carefully and never pierce
stare exuberantly without blinking

Black Onyx Eyes

You bring the sunrise
and the dusk chases you home
and midnight black cloaks
your body like
the blue hour.

That black veil headdress
bright onyx eyes
amaretto and caramel skin
swirling in the shadows
above cherry lips.
