Thirst

You were a mirage
A wish, a desire to hold, but it ran through my fingers like sand.
Compelled forward in the desert, desperate to quench my hearts thirst.
There you shimmer just out of my reach
Here I trod, entranced by your visage that beckons...

Levity

Open adult eyes hide childhood pain
1000 little cuts with word and intention
Our hearts recoil in horror
Protect the soft spots with hard eyes
Float around like a ghost
Screams of pain in the silence
My hoarding house of memories overflow

I think

I think deeper than I speak
I think deeper then I speak
I think deeper and the thoughts I keep

Replete and succinct
Succinct but distinct

Through me and to me
Trying to get at me.

 Truly.
Hate sublimates, indoctrinates and subjugates
Lies lie at the bottom of empty tongues and hearts
Deceit lounges with a full belly
No communion no community
No heros no...

The brush you wield paints a vivid picture of unrequited unintentional love. I like when poets let a sentence or a thought breath. Instead of filling it with pretty lilting words describing everything and nothing. I liked this poem because I kept coming back to it. I think a poem should be interesting from the first line. You had a line i really liked about fibers being stitch into the quilt of your mind and i liked that line and i have a suggestion. How about " Like fibers of my my forever quilt, stitched into my mind but piercing my heart". Sorry for the notes good works set my brain on fire.Good meter, good read, great poem, and the best of luck to you.
