I am 65 years old. And a month ago my doctor gave me 3 months to live. I have been riding my whole life I had a very abusive childhood and it caused me to hide my feelings so I begin writing them because I couldn't Express them or any emotion for that matter. We moved from West Virginia to California and kids would tease us about the way we spoke so I became an English free and my vocabulary was vast and I Loved words and I was a speed reader and I began writing poetry because I was more turned in toward myself not outgoing I was a shy kid actually I wasn't even shy I was scared I was scared all the time I had an ulcer what I was sick from the abuse and being scared so I couldn't tell anyone about what was happening so I wrote I wrote a lot and I love my poetry it's a part of me every poem is a part of my heart and I love poetry
