Winters Grasp

Winters Grasp

Winters grasp is finally failing
Though not without one final fight
She tricked the trees to blooming
Only to deny them - in the night
Frozen clothes yes rows and rows
Still hanging on the line
Most are yours and some are his
But a few of them are mine

Fish move back to deeper waters
Searching for relief
Though none be found
The fish all drowned
In the pursuit of food to eat

The old man with out a jacket
Finally froze to death last night
I tried to give him warmth and comfort
But he only picked a drunken fight

We walk in her long shadows
We burst threw every door
Shaking off the cold and wet
Jackets to the floor

Winters grasp is finally failing
Though not without one final fight
She tricked the trees to blooming
Only to deny them - in the night
