Window in the wilderness

We have wondered so long
without a way
and with lost hopes
striding on the ropes
But when it was almost grounded
In our faceless confusion
Then I saw a window
In the looming arms of the wilderness
running through the shadows
of the seasonss darkness
And I heard the long voices
of our ancestors in their lonely pits
That this is your chance
to reap that which we slavely laboured
And in the midst of this drama
came calling the millenium
bringing in her blessed hands
the opuim of joyful songs
Wipping away the tears
that trailed the hopeless streets
and taking captives our helpless fears
that disjointed our peace
With a drum-beats that tells me
that our long dreams of faithless nights
to lead ourselves to the promised land
had vanquished
In the middle of the glowing sunshine.
