Wild-Goose Chase

Exercise on treadmills
is good for a heart pace:
a monotonous routine
such as running in place.
It will get you nowhere like a wild-goose chase.
Worry for the future
makes a sad "basket case:"
a circular practice
that fretting can't erase.
It will get you nowhere like a wild-goose chase.
Riding a hobbyhorse
is good for gallop grace:
an instinctive reflex
at the Kentucky race.
It will get you nowhere like a wild-goose chase.
Fussing over errors
makes a sad "about-face:"
a pointless exercise
that whining can't retrace.
It will get you nowhere like a wild-goose chase.
