Where Art Thou My Brother?

Like a beacon, when "the sea gets rough,"
He guides; like a voice, "in the wilderness,"
He calls; most of all, he is "non-pareil,"
A friend with an outstretched hand--always,
As helping is a matter of faith lived by.
He is my brother, I last saw--
More than a quarter of a century ago,
When the world, for me, was cut in two.
Then one day, in a yacht, he came to live
In the same world--in my "neighborhood."
I said to myself, "it's time, we ended
Living in a separate universe,"
But it wasn't meant to be,
For, though he lives not too far away,
His mansion proved "impregnable a fortress" for me.
Where art thou, my brother?
Are you behind guarded walls and gate,
I have to climb over, just to get to you,
So I can tell you, "How much I missed you
As my brother, in all these many, many years?"
