Vietnam War (5)

In Vietnam war we fought,
I put our lives on line.
We meet a deadly encounter,
On the way to Cambodian border.

What a horrible event,
On that surprising moment!
Three of our unit vehicles,
Received a direct hit so terrible.

I jumped off from the military armor,
Dashed towards the fierce fight battle;
To administered the wounded soul,
And dragged them away from the battle.

I have done my duty, to save and serve my country,
Without any regard to my own safety;
On that ninetenth hundreth sixty nine,
On the Eleventh Day of January.

May I never never see again,
Like that battle I was in...
I was lucky to be alive, but feel bad for my friends.
Event like this, it's hard to forget.

So, if you ever get a chance ,
To see or meet a veterans;
Be considerate and  be kind.
And thank them of what they have done.

Dedicated to all Veterans Especially dedicated to Mr. Larry Duncan who serve as Combat medic in Nam..This poem based on His life event in Vietnam. With tears in His voice as he shared this unforgetable event in his life.
