Undo Unkindness

You can't undo unkindness.
Contrition can't remove
the hateful act of anger that no one can approve.

You can't unsend unkindness.
Penitence can't retrieve
the hurtful mail of malice that no one can relieve.

You can't unsow unkindness.
Recompense can't defray
the awful seeds of sadness that no one can allay.

You can't unbend unkindness.
Correction can't repair
the painful drain of disdain that no one can compare.

You can't unsay unkindness.
Retraction can't erase
the spiteful pith of passion that no one can embrace.
