Knowing the many ways to tie a tie
Sure seems like a good thing for a beaux
But I can not help asking myself “Why?”
When I can't even do the knot I know

Though I take my time the tie will not tie
I'd settle for tucking the end that trails
The wall's mirror just confuses my eye
Recalling Mnemonic devices fails

I've seen Tutorials they have to view
They go in one eye and out the other
I have tied a good knot when time has flew
Like if I am late meeting my brother

Makes me think of other forgotten skills
And that living is a science of wills
