The Mask
You wear a mask so no one can see ,the pain ,the hurt inside of thee.
Behind that mask is a face I see, a beautiful reminder of what was me.
Somewhere beneath the stone cold eyes, lies a helpless child with tears in her eyes.
She cries alone, most days and nights, full of despair, the feelings there.
One day she awoke to an empty room, looking around and felt her doom.
She pulled the covers over her head, and thought to herself I can't be dead.
Dead inside, feeling no more, until she heard a knock at her door.
A stranger, his eyes so blue , held out his hands, she said ,"Who are you" ?
I'm here with you, as you can see, take off the mask and come with me.
Let me show you what you don't see, a life worth living he reminded me.
From that day on the mask is gone, the tears of despair are no longer there.
I finally see, inside of me the gift of life given to me.
